Family Support Services in Nassau County

FSS NY works with children, youth and families in Nassau County, where our office is, and hires providers across Long Island.

Programs for Nassau County Families

• Youth peer support for ages 13 to 21: up to 12 hours a week with trained young people who have lived experience.
• Adult peer support for adults 18 and older, from peers with lived experience of recovery.
• HCBS and Health Home care management: services at home and in the community, with one care manager coordinating the plan.
• ABA therapy for children with autism and related needs.

For a baby or toddler, the Nassau County Department of Health runs Early Intervention: call 516-227-8661 to refer a child from birth to 2 years and 9 months. Most of our programs are Medicaid services; families can apply for children's Medicaid through NY State of Health at 855-355-5777.

We staff providers across Long Island, including Nassau County. Providers work one-on-one with children after school and on weekends, part-time or full-time. Open positions:

• Early Intervention ABA Therapist: $60 to $65/hr with an LMSW or special education degree
• Peer Support Provider: $25/hr
• Respite Provider: $25/hr
• HCBS CFASS Provider: $50/hr with a bachelor’s degree and relevant experience
• ABA Provider (HCBS)

No. Our services are covered by state programs, with no out-of-pocket cost to families. Our team explains coverage and handles the paperwork.

Do you provide Early Intervention in Nassau County?

Our Early Intervention program, with Stand Out Care, serves New York City. In Nassau County, refer your child to the county Department of Health's Early Intervention program at 516-227-8661.
